This is the story of Iti, a jingle maker at an advertising company in Gurugram. It was well known that in March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic knocked on our doors, resulting in a nationwide lockdown. It had been a long time since she'd been home to Mussoorie since she lost her parents in an accident, but the lockdown in 2020 forced her to revisit those old memories. The house where she previously lived a happy life with family members is now just her and her old memories. A chance encounter between Iti and her first love, Nishit, a reunion with her estranged best friend, Shelly, and reading her diary makes both her best and worst memories come to life. Her past has always been a source of anxiety for her, but now she is compelled to confront it. When Iti is locked up, she is working on a movie script, and her caretaker Shyamali Aunty advises her to work on a script based on real events and she draws inspiration from her old diaries. It is as if she is reviving her old life.
A book describing how people's lives have been affected by the lockdown is based on the experiences of people during that time. In the end, it is our family, our mental health, and our physical health, that are our most precious treasures. Life is too short and we don't know how much time we have, so it's better to live guilt-free and happy. The best way to live is to forgive and forget.
When you read Stuti Changle's books, you will always find wonderful quotes. There are a lot of quotes in her books that relate to philosophy and she has a very mature thinking process. It is written in simple, engaging language as always. Characters are also well portrayed and narrated. As a whole, I enjoyed reading it.
