Mia P. Manansala

Mia P. Manansala is a book coach and author of ARSENIC AND ADOBO (Berkley 2021), the first book in the Tita Rosie's Kitchen Mystery series. She uses humour (and murder) to explore aspects of the Filipino diaspora, queerness, and her millennial love for pop culture.

She has won the 2018 Hugh Holton Award, the 2018 Eleanor Taylor Bland Crime Fiction Writers of Colour Award, the 2017 William F. Deeck - Malice Domestic Grant for Unpublished Writers, and the 2016 Mystery Writers of America/Helen McCloy Scholarship. She was also a 2017 Pitch Wars participant and a mentor from 2018 to 2020.
A fan of all things geeky, Mia spends her days procrastinating, playing JRPGs and dating sims, reading cosy mysteries, and dreaming of becoming best friends with Wonder Woman and Kamala Khan.
When she’s not teasing her ever-so-patient husband, she’s cuddling her dogs Max Power and Bayley Banks (bonus points for those who recognise the references) at her home just outside Chicago.
Mia is quite the community member, being part of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, Crime Writers of Colour, Banyan: Asian American Writers Collective, the Chicago Writers' Association, and the Chicago Nerd Social Club.

When her long-lost cousin comes back to town just in time for the holidays, Lila Macapagal knows that big trouble can't be far behind in this new mystery by Mia P. Manansala, author of Arsenic and Adobo.
