The story is about a former "Army Queen" becoming a "Beauty Queen". A woman officer's journey after she retires marks a new phase of her life. Having been relieved from the Army, the author suddenly felt a void when she faced the challenges of civilian life, especially when she thought she wasn't feminine enough among the female crowd. In her 14 years of service in the Indian Army, Ankita developed a toughness like no other. As she became that, she let go of her feminine side. To enhance her feminine side, she decides to enter a "beauty contest". As a result, we are taken on an amazing journey from "drill boots" to "stilettos", filled with many emotions.
After living a rough, tough, and disciplined life for 14 years in the military, the author beautifully illustrates the difficulties she faced in civilian life. This book has everything that makes a book interesting to read. It covers everything from patriotism to fashion-world gossip, the strong step of a woman on the country's border to her seductive walk on the ramp, from a mother's soft heart to the same woman's strong intentions to protect the country. Presented very well. At times, you'll be moved by the author's innocence, and at other times, you'll salute her strength. This story truly captivated me from beginning to end. The author provides excellent narration throughout the entire story. This is a fast-paced, well-narrated book that shares real-life experiences. I would definitely recommend it to all readers.
