The book starts with what appears to be a traditional murder mystery but quickly develops into a richly layered story. With careful attention to detail and an atmospheric setting, the story takes readers on a worldwide journey, from ancient Indian temples to secret German bunkers and high-tech American laboratories. The brutal killing of Professor Shastry on Dussehra night and the simultaneous disappearance of his daughter Meera, set a suspenseful and compelling tone.
As Rohan (Meera's Husband) investigates the mystery, he finds himself exploring the ancient world of the Asuras, the epic pages of the Ramayana, and the eerie corridors of Nazi Germany, all the way to the mysterious origins of NASA's space programme. It's a compact thriller that smoothly combines mythology, history, and suspense.

The language is easy to understand, and the narration flows effortlessly, making it an inviting read for beginners. However, to avoid spoilers, I won’t go further into the plot.
While the book effectively creates intrigue, some elements prevented me from giving it a higher rating. Avid readers might notice occasional plot holes, and the character development could have been more detailed. That said, considering the book’s short length—around 170 pages—there’s limited scope for delving deeply into individual storylines. Also, although the historical aspects are undeniably intriguing, their frequent inclusion sometimes overshadows the main plot, diminishing its overall impact.
Despite these points, the book remains a worthy choice for those new to historical or mythological fiction. It is ideal for readers seeking a quick and engaging read in this genre.

My Rating:

3/5
