Mahindran, once a decorated officer in the Indian Army, is now serving as an IPS officer. He finds himself entangled in a dangerous web of espionage when a failed intelligence mission sparks a cycle of revenge. At the heart of this chaos stands Saurabh Patel—an industrialist seeking retribution for his son’s death—backed by a ruthless crime syndicate guarding a groundbreaking scientific secret. In the shadows, RAW, India’s intelligence agency, races against time, and only one man can infiltrate the enemy: Mahindran. But when the enemy begins to play god, will Mahindran himself become the weapon they fear most?

Coming to the narrative aspects, since this is a thriller, I will avoid spoiling too much. The language is simple, and the characters are well-crafted. The pacing, however, is uneven. Certain portions, such as the flashback to 1984 and Jeep’s training sequences, felt drawn out and slow, while other parts moved briskly, keeping the reader engaged.

Now, why did I rate it 3 stars? The narrative suffers from noticeable loopholes and at times lacks clarity. Certain storylines begin with promise but are left without proper closure, leaving the reader confused. There were moments when I had to reread sections to confirm I hadn’t missed anything. Motives sometimes lack conviction—when strong, the revenge arc feels weakly executed; and when the revenge element is emphasised, the underlying motive isn’t always persuasive. For example, the transformation of Saurabh Parmar into Saurabh Patel receives considerable page time, but remains unclear, unrealistic, and illogical.
That said, one redeeming quality was the section on Jeep’s training. These chapters were gripping, adventurous, and vividly described. They offered an exciting look at how soldiers and undercover operatives are prepared for high-stakes missions. This element alone made the book worth finishing and contributed heavily to my 3-star rating.
In conclusion, I would say this book is more suitable for novice readers or those seeking a quick, adventurous thriller. Avid readers accustomed to more complex, tightly woven plots may find it less satisfying.

My Rating:

3/5
