If youโ€™ve read the first two books by the author, The Black Book 1 and The Black Book 2, you might naturally assume that The Blue Book would also revolve around themes like the law of attraction or manifestation. However, let me clarify โ€” this book takes an entirely different route. The Blue Book is a heartfelt journey of some young individuals, weaving through the complex terrains of love, loss, struggle, and eventual success. As the author states at the beginning of the book, all the characters and events are based on real people and incidents.
The narrative opens with preparation for one of Indiaโ€™s most competitive exams, the CAT. Through this lens, the author captures the intense pressure students face as they strive to secure admission into prestigious institutions. What stands out is the mental anguish many students go through, often torn between personal aspirations and societal or familial expectations.

Since this is a story of multiple young individuals, it is not easy to delve into each character deeply in a short review, but thatโ€™s precisely why itโ€™s worth reading. The writing is simple yet engaging, and the narration keeps the pace brisk and compelling. Despite being around 300 pages long, itโ€™s a book youโ€™ll likely finish in just a few sittings. With a wide array of characters, the story showcases various phases of student lifeโ€”friendships, heartbreaks, dreams, and moments of betrayal. The emotions are raw and relatable. Some characters stood out and left a lasting impression on me, while one in particular didnโ€™t resonate as well. But given that these are real-life portrayals, their authenticity is undeniable. Weโ€™ve all met people like them at some point.

You might be wonderingโ€”if the book is written so well and in such an easy-to-follow style, why did I give it a 3.5-star rating? Let me explain.
Yes, the book is undoubtedly a good readโ€”well-articulated, engaging, and accessible in its language. However, I felt that certain parts of the plot were slightly slow, not in terms of pace, but in terms of narrative progression. Moreover, the storyline follows a familiar pattern: college life, friendships, love, and betrayal. While these themes were addressed sincerely, they felt somewhat predictable, perhaps because Iโ€™ve read similar narratives before.

That said, this doesnโ€™t mean the book is lacking in merit. It has its strengths, especially in its authenticity and emotional honesty, and readers who enjoy campus-based stories will likely find it quite meaningful. This is a compelling story of college life filled with dreams, friendships, betrayal, resilience, and success. With its vibrant depiction of campus life and a strong message drawn from actual events, I highly recommend it to college students. Itโ€™s relatable and offers valuable life lessons and inspiration along the way.

As a famous movie line goes:
"Hamari filmon ki tarah, hamari zindagi mein bhi end tak sab kuch theek hi ho jaata haiโ€ฆ Happy ending."
And indeed, the book concludes on a hopeful, satisfying note.

My Rating:

3.5/5
